Say Goodbye to Uncertainty & Self-Imposed Walls

Monday, March 12th, 2018

In this months newsletter I spoke about getting to a place where fear of failure wouldn’t be an issue. Wouldn’t it be great to dive into things headfirst without worrying about all the things that could go wrong? Often we can become our own worst enemies. On our journey we create problems that aren’t there and let uncertainty and doubt stop us dead in our tracks.

Getting Your 2018 Off To The Right Start

Monday, January 8th, 2018

If you missed January Empower and last week’s blog, first and foremost I’d like to wish you a very Happy New Year, with greater confidence, balance and clarity for the year ahead.

How has the first week of 2018 treated you so far? Can you believe we’re already a week into 2018?

I do hope you’re well and have had an enjoyable festive period with your families and loved ones. I’ve heard from many clients, colleagues and friends that have unfortunately been afflicted with all sorts of bugs over Christmas, including quite a few with full-blown flu. If this was you, I hope you’re now fighting fit or at least well on your way back to health and ready to embrace all that 2018 has to offer!

Happy New Year!

Today is a special day for numerous reasons, the start of a new year, a chance to start with a clean slate and Empower, our monthly newsletter has been published for the 100th time. Today our 100th Anniversary edition was sent out and we thought a celebration was called for. When this journey started, the newsletter was sent out quarterly but has been of benefit to our Empower community of mums and mumpreneurs for nine years, providing advice, inspiration and support helping them overcome the daily challenges mums face.

For all the advice and support we have shared over the years the biggest testimony to us reaching this milestone is you! We couldn’t have done it without your support, engagement or feedback over the past nine years.

Do You Know Who You Really Are?

Monday, June 26th, 2017

If I asked you to tell me who you are without being able to use titles such as mum, wife, partner, sister, manager, employee what would you answer? Would you answer easily or would you find it difficult?

Often as women, it can feel our identity is so tied up in who we are to others, we forget who we are to ourselves. What we love, what makes us happy, what we stand for. It’s easy to know who we in our responsibility roles. We play those roles on autopilot. They are so well rehearsed, we don’t have to think about them. How often do we get the chance to be ‘ourselves’ and revel in what that feels like.

Steps To Overcoming Low Self-Esteem

Monday, June 12th, 2017

June’s Empower focused on discovering your true purpose in life. You may be wondering what knowing your purpose has to do with self-esteem.

If knowing your purpose and living it is key to living a happy, contented life – self-esteem plays a huge role in being able to make that happen. Self-esteem is what allows you to believe you deserve to be happy and enjoy life. When self-esteem is low, its hard to focus on what makes you happy as often the negative self-talk will drown out any positives.

Self-Worth: How To Value Yourself!

Monday, May 15th, 2017

This month’s newsletter explored self-worth and how for each of us, it ties in with what we believe about ourselves. It can feel as if our belief and values are fixed. In many instances the values we grow up with and are instilled in us, usually from our parents and teachers, are one we take with us through life. They help us navigate the world and give us a sense of ‘knowing’ and belonging. They don’t change much, if at all and they are just what we believe. (more…)

Courage: Believe You Can, One Step At A Time!

Monday, April 24th, 2017

Our theme for this month is confidence. In addition to mindset, the second part of the confidence jigsaw is courage. I don’t know about you but anytime I hear the word courage I think of the lion in The Wizard of Oz who goes on a journey with Dorothy and the other characters in the hope that the Wizard will gift him courage. It turns out that in spite of always feeling fearful Cowardly Lion was acting with courage all along. He believed that feeling fear meant he wasn’t brave. He didn’t see any courage in the actions he took when he felt fear – because he focused on the fear.

Getting Your Mind Set For Success!

Monday, April 10th, 2017

How do you feel when you hear people talk about mindset? Over the past few years, the idea that we have total control over what we think at any given time has become almost trendy. Perhaps, making it seem like the answer to any challenge in life is to throw fairy dust at it.
