With today’s fast-paced and hectic lifestyles, it is little wonder homes become cluttered with too many things. Clutter can impact the way you feel in general, which is why it is advisable you de-clutter when you can. Here are some quick tips to help you cut your clutter so you can enjoy a relaxing home environment.

Incoming!
If you feel overwhelmed by all the paper messages that enter your house each day, set up an inbox for everything you need to keep. Place all your post, messages from school, general reminders and any documents that require your attention in the inbox. If you need the details for a later time, you can find them easily without having to trawl through piles of post and paper that could be littering your house. Once you have dealt with the communication, file the document away either in a housekeeping file or the recycling bin, whichever is most suitable!

A Good Deed
If you would like to do more for charity but can’t afford to give regular donations, de-cluttering unwanted possessions is a great way to support a cause. Each month, choose some items you rarely or never use that you no longer need and donate them to a local charity store. The charity will benefit greatly from your donation and you will fulfil your desire to give back to the community.

Bin It
Get rid of unwanted junk and rubbish by quickly going around your home with a bin bag. Whilst throwing away general rubbish, keep an eye out for broken toys and such like. Pop items straight in the bin and put the bag out for collection. This is a great way to quickly clear your home but always try to recycle whenever possible.

Live With Less
Having lots of possessions can be associated with wealth, yet in this material world, people are seemingly less fulfilled. Having less does not reflect on your social status. On the contrary, you will have more money to invest in better quality items. This isn’t about money – this is about managing to get by without having to continually acquire new things to make you feel happy.

Be as creative as you can when it comes to de-cluttering. Find a home for every item and don’t store unwanted or rarely used things. Get the family involved so you don’t have to do all the work. Once you’ve cut your clutter, maintain your home environment to ensure you live in peace and tranquillity!
